Misunderstood Genius!

William Turan was born in New York, NY in 1966. His parents divorced shortly after his birth and he moved with his mother to a country somewhere in Europe where he spent most of his teens. Growing up, he spoke three languages and took a great interest in photography. Until the age of 25, he worked as a freelance photographer, making short films on the side which were displayed throughout europe and certain parts of asia. Desiring more support for his films, Turan returned to America and was shocked with the blast of culture he recieved immediately upon arrival. He made several short films about his experiences upon arriving, and wrote columns in magazines to support himself while trying to find backing for the 'inter' trilogy, which took him over 6 years to complete in all. Only partially pleased with the results of the three films, he set out to make 'Memory', which was recognized by counter culture film enthusiasts as a classic in Europe and was easy to produce considering that the budget was just a fraction as much as the 'inter' trilogy. Turan's family currently live in italy.
